Description:
This 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring, known as “Landsat-8,” is a frame-off, concours-level restoration completed in 2018. A multi-year body-off rebuild eliminated all rust and resulted in a laser-straight, show-quality finish in striking French Vanilla.
Power comes from a professionally rebuilt 440 cubic-inch engine, topped with dual four-barrel carburetors and supported by a new intake manifold, aluminum powder-coated radiator, and electric exhaust cutouts. The drivetrain features a 727 automatic transmission paired with an 8¾-inch differential running 3.23 gears—delivering effortless cruising and unmistakable “back-in-your-seat” Mopar acceleration.
Every nut and bolt has been replaced, refinished, or polished. Powder-coated headers, crossover dual exhaust, assisted pneumatic disc brakes, new suspension components, and fresh shocks ensure this car performs as beautifully as it presents.
Inside, the cabin features a new Legendary interior, loop carpeting, and a carved wooden-grip steering wheel. The original radio remains in place for authenticity (non-functional). Even the signature “Beep-Beep” horn remains—a nod to classic Mopar heritage.
The iconic fuselage B-Body design showcases bold, aerodynamic lines and the unmistakable wraparound loop bumper styling that defines early ’70s muscle. This build retains its original character while integrating thoughtful upgrades for reliability and drivability.
“Landsat-8” made its debut at the 2018 Portland Roadster Show, where it won Best in Class. It went on to earn restoration honors at the prestigious Forest Grove Concours d'Elegance later that same year. Ribbons and trophies accompany the vehicle, further validating the quality of the restoration.
Riding on fat new BF Goodrich tires and presenting in true concours condition, this Satellite Sebring represents one of the finest examples available today. It is equally suited for show-field presentation or spirited touring.
An award-winning restoration with documented pedigree, “Landsat-8” offers a rare opportunity to acquire a professionally built, investment-grade Mopar that blends authenticity, performance, and craftsmanship.
Show-ready. Street-capable. Built to launch.
