1972 Plymouth Cuda Pro-Touring. The car was restored in 2019 by Lucky 7 Speed Shop in Lone, CA for a local collector. During past 12 months I have driven it on several long trips covering more than 4,500 miles without incident. It drives well with a firm ride and runs cool all day long on the hottest summer days with the a/c operating.
The driveline has the original 340 ci engine rebuilt in 2019 coupled to a GM 4L60E transmission with a CompuShift electronic controller mounted under the center concole. It shifts smooth and firm. The engine has Holley Sniper II fuel injection, modern accessories ie. alternator, PS, heat / ac, dual electric fans w/ pulse modulated speed control, aluminum radiator, condenser and PS reservoir. A billet aluminum mounting bracket provides a solid base for the serpentine belt drive accessories. The car also has cruise control for those long drives.
The suspension was also replaced with components deserving of a Pro-Touring car. The front suspension is by QA1 and utilizes torsion bars, adjustable shocks, and easy ride high adjustments. The rear suspension is Hoschkis 4-link with JRi adjustable coil shocks. I have a second set of stronger springs that can be installed for a firmer ride if desired. Stopping the car is accomplished by a power 4-whl Wilwood disc brake system featuring 4 piston calipers and oversized rotors. I have the emergency drum brakes for the car that go with the car. The polished aluminum wheels are 18” U S Mags Cuda w/ B F Goodrich g-force 245/40ZR18 tires.
The unusual yet stunning interior features brown leather like seats with plaid inserts and wheat carpets with plush brown floor mats embroided with the logo and orange trim.The brown center console appearance is enhanced by the polished aluminum B & M shifter and color matched top plate. The wood / aluminum steering wheel is by Nardi w/center horn button. All the the dash instruments and lights inside and outside work as they should. The turn signal switch lever does not return after centering the steering wheel.
A new car cover also comes with the car.
The car has not been shown much with the exception of 3 times on the west coast and 3 times on the east coast. It won a 1st place or best in show in all 6 events including the prestigious 2020 Grand National Roadster Show and the 2023 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals.
I have decided to sell the car after some difficult soul searching because I am 76 years old, facing a 3rd back surgery and don’t need the wear and tear any longer. This car has had more than $130,000 invested in it since 2018. I have lowered my asking price because the paint it beginning show some issues that need to be corrected if the buyer intends to own a trailer queen top flight show car. I don’t want the car to sit around and collect dust for the next year.
