This 1953 Studebaker Commander has been highly customized from the tires up. Prior to any customization, the frame was boxed, reinforced, sandblasted and powder coated. The firewall and all interior floor plates, including trunk, were replaced.
Engine
• Chevrolet 350 cubic inch small block with polished Edelbrock carburetor
• MSD distributor with Taylor 8mm spark plug wires with chrome wire separator by Holley
• Aluminum intake manifold and 2 chrome Holley air cleaners with K&N filters
• Jet hot coated Hedman headers with 2.5-inch outlet exiting through MagnaFlow mufflers
• Edelbrock pulley system is chrome as well as are the valve covers, transmission dipstick tube, overflow tubes, and miscellaneous hoses
• Engine compartment is highly detailed
Transmission & Rear end
• Chevrolet Hydramatic 350 turbo (Powerglide) with floor shifter by Lokar
• Aluminum transmission cooler radiator mounted behind the main radiator.
• Radiator has two electric fans.
• Custom fitted driveshaft
• Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.70 gears
Chassis
• Steel original frame with the addition of tubular chassis in the front
• Coil over shock front suspension with tubular upper and lower control arms and new front sway bar
• 1.25-inch Mustang II front end
• 1-inch rear sway bar and coil overs
• Chevrolet brake booster with a variable proportion valve and reservoir
Tires and Wheels
• American Racing 5 spoke polished wheels with 8 x 15 inch front and rear cap
• Firestone Firehawk tires (P225-65R15 front and rear P255-70R15)
• Power disc brakes front and rear
• Mustang rack and pinion power steering
Interior
• Custom cream and tan Ultra Leather front and rear bucket seats installed by Jack’s Upholstery
• AutoMeters speedometer, tachometer, fuel, water temperature and alternator gauges with white background with black dial indicators and gold trim rings
• Doors opened electrically from the outside with the key fob.
• Power windows and electric trunk lifter
• Seatbelts for all seats
• Front dash painted the same color as the body and polished to a brilliant shine
• Custom console housing controls for the air conditioning unit
• Flaming River steering wheel
• Headliner is one piece and is in excellent condition

• Painted Emerald Green by Dino’s Paint and Autobody in San Carlos, CA
• Paint is a base coat clear coat and was color sanded and polished to a brilliant shine
